UL PIPING CERTIFICATION
Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL) now provides certification services for manufacturers of generic ingredients, materials and finished products used in plastic piping systems. UL evaluates these products in accordance with ANSI/NSF Standard 14, Plastics Piping System Components and Related Materials, which references specific health effects, performance, and material physical property standards. To indicate compliance, UL's Component Recognition and Follow-Up Service programs are identified by the Recognized Mark, which consists of the manufacturer's identification and catalog, model or other product designation which correspond with the marking specified in UL's published records. Occidental Chemical Corporation is the first plastic materials manufacturer to receive Component Recognition from UL. Listing and product information will be published in UL's Drinking Water Products and Plumbing Directories, and on UL's Web site.
