CORROSION RESISTANT FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM
3P announced the introduction of a PTFE lined fire protection system designed to eliminate the problem of microbiologically induced corrosion (MIC) which can cause all-metal systems to fail in an actual fire situation. According to Don Boswell, 3P National Sales Manager, "The patented 3P system provides an impervious barrier to MIC. Because there is no interior corrosion in the system due to microbiological activity, the design flow characteristics remain constant throughout the life of the product." The 3P system has a working pressure of 175 psi and an in-service temperature of 275°F (135°C) and is for industrial wet overhead fire protection applications. It consists of metal pipe, fittings and flanges lined with extruded, transfer or isostatically molded PTFE.
