AUTOMATES CLEANUP IN MACHINING
CNC Software, Inc.'s Mastercam CAD/CAM software now includes a suite of cleanup functions designed to reduce handwork and machine time. It offers several new features including leftover machining, scallop removal and pencil tracing. These new functions automatically locate and machine stock left by a larger tool. Their "leftover machining" feature identifies and machines areas that need to be cut with a smaller tool. The user simply enters the original and leftover machining tool sizes, and Mastercam automatically creates a toolpath that removes stock in areas where the original tool could not fit. Zigzag, one-way and 3D collapse machining options give users the flexibility to choose the best strategy for their part.
