CASTING NYLON TO SHAPE
Cast Nylons Ltd. is offering a new brochure that illustrates the advantages of Near Net Shape(tm) nylon casting over UHMW, acetal, bronze, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum or steel.
The Nycast(r) process polymerizes molten calprolactam monomer directly in a tool to make a type 6 nylon shape. With casting tolerances of 1/32" or 1% of dimension, whichever is greater, and the flexibility to make eccentric geometry similar to typical metal casting.
The brochure also provides a property analysis table to easily identify and compare their full line, which ranges from standard Nycast 6PA, Nycast MoS2 filled, three grades of proprietary oil-filled Nyloil(r) for bearing and wear applications, Nycast 6MBP and CP impace grades and heat stabilized XHA grade for higher temperature applications.
