MANUAL ROUTERS IN DEMAND
Despite all the excitement about CNC routers, there are still plenty of jobs for which a CNC machine would be overkill. C. R. Onsrud has recently introduced its own CNC models, but reports continued strong demand for its manual Inverted Routers.
The Inverted Router, introduced by Charlie Onsrud in 1978, has become the industry standard for pin routers. The router's retracting spindle is solidly mounted in the machine base, reducing vibration, bit breakage and chatter. Equally important reasons for the Inverted Routers' ongoing success include their proven dependability and flexibility. The customers themselves are always discovering new applications for their "Onsruds," and have used them from the beginning on a variety of materials.
Available now for new and current customers is a free 30-minute videotape entitled "Template-Making for Inverted Routers." It shows how to construct a number of different templates for a variety of applications and materials. Using a properly constructed template is the single best way to maximize machine safety and productivity.
