CARRIAGE BOLT
Plastic Specialties has developed a carriage bolt with a UHMW-PE covering bonded to the head, providing more endurance. Unlike the snap-on poly-capped bolt, the Ultra III(tm) bolt has a covering which has been molded to the top of the carriage bolt. The UHMW wraps securely around the entire head of the bolt, with a minimum of 1/4" seal, virtually eliminating the possibility of the top popping off inadvertently. This bolt comes in several sizes - 1/4", 5/16" and 3/8" threads with varied lengths and covering thicknesses. It can be used in a variety of applications where there is excessive friction and wear or high velocity. It is especially useful in areas where corrosive materials are used because it seals itself when more torque is applied as the bolt is tightened. Ideal applications are drag conveyors, vibrating feeders, flotation tanks, chutes and hoppers where UHMW lining is used to protect steel, aluminum or wood. Bolts are available for polyethylene lining material from 1/4" to 1".
