ULTRASONIC WELDING SYSTEM
Sonics & Materials, Inc. has designed a 15 kHz ultrasonic welding system that is particularly suited for the joining of large parts, high-performance engineering thermoplastics, and some polyolefins.

Model 1595 is available in 2500 and 4000 watt configurations. Because of the longer resonant length of metals at 15 kHz frequency it is possible to design much larger horns that can operate at higher amplitude than the smaller 20 kHz type, allowing the welding of large parts. The lower frequency also enables the system to weld faster with less material degradation and better weld integrity. Another advantage of 15 kHz ultrasonic welding is the decrease in attenuation in plastics, allowing the joining of materials at greater far field distances.

The unit can integrate a linear optical encoder for precise weld depth control. It is also available with microprocessor controls and job storage capability. Accessories include sound enclosures, display monitors and several mounting styles.
