All natural, unfilled Ketron™ PEEK™ stock shapes from DSM Engineering comply with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulation for use in food contact applications. Compliance with the FDA regulation (21 CFR 177.2415 for repeated use in contact with food) includes contact with all types of food at temperatures up to those typical for oven cooking.
The material is high strength and heat resistant, has very good chemical resistance, very low moisture absorption, good resistance to steam, and has high wear and abrasion resistance.
Unfilled, FDA-compliant stock shapes include extruded rod, plate and tubular bar. Compression molded Ketron PEEK is available as disk and tubular bar, plus injection molded tubular bar is available.
