VESPEL RODS AND PLATES

Professional Plastics has introduced special distributor pricing for DuPont Vespel rods and plates. The material will be available to distributors nationwide and the company will provide free UPS Blue service on all orders of $1,000 or more.Vespel is available in 5 different formulations: SP-1, SP-21, SP-22, SP-211 and SP-3. SP-1 is made from the unfilled base resin and provides the maximum physical strength, elongation, and toughness. SP-1 also provides the best electrical and thermal properties of any Vespel product. SP-21 contains a 15% graphite filler added to the base resin to provide low wear and friction for bearings, thrust washers and dynamic seals. SP-22 contains a 40% graphite filler which improves the wear and friction properties, as well as improving dimensional stability. SP-22 also has the lowest coefficient of thermal expansion. SP-211 contains 15% graphite +10% Teflon. This provides the lowest coefficient of friction over a wide range of operating conditions. It also has the lowest wear rate up to 149C (300F). SP-3 contains 15% molybdenum disulfide which provides lubrication for seals and bearings in vacuum or dry environments.
