1-POUND MOLDED PLANK
Kaneka Texas Corporation introduced a 1-pound molded polypropylene plank for use in packaging and manufacturing applications. They developed the EPERAN® brand 1-pound plank to meet increasing customer demand for lighter density materials.
The plank with 1-pound per cubic foot density gives fabricators a competitive alternative to 1.2- and 1.7-pound extruded polyethylene materials. Compared to standard extruded planks, the plank is a cost-effective way to reduce packaging weight and size. It is available in 48" x 108" planks that range in thickness from 2" to 8".The planks offer excellent cushioning properties and creep factor for strong support and protection during shipping and warehousing. Also, these products contain no CFCs or HCFCs and have no potential for flammable off-gassing.
Other advantages include: Abrasion resistance; good dimensional stability and thermal properties; good moisture and weather resistance; and easy fabrication into various shapes and sizes.
EPERAN products are available in polypropylene and polyethylene forms in various densities, thicknesses and plank sizes.
