ANGLED-HEAD ROTARY CUTTER
A new on-demand rotary cutter from G. F. Goodman features a specialized head for cutting for pipe, profile, and tubing at variable angles from 90° to 45°. The unit has a maximum O.D. capacity of 3.0 in. (75mm) and makes up to 500 cuts per minute at 90° and up to 150 at 45°, depending on density of the extrusion. It employs a VAC-U-TORQ vacuum clutch brake indexer drive system said to provide high sustained accuracy while reducing the need for scheduled maintenance.
Standard features include: choice of centerline height; bi-directional encoder/counter; parts counter; safety interlocks, left/right or right/left product flow; and choice of knife blades.
Options include: a variety of auxiliary length control systems; batch counter, automatic shut-off package; powered 120 VAC output signal; anti-jam package; NEMA 12 electrical enclosure; computer process control interface; knife lubrication package; dual blade cutter; cuff/bubble detection system; and "go-continuous" flywheel package for cut rates to 2000 per minute.
Other on-demand rotary cutters manufactured by the company range in capacity from 1.0 to 8.0 in. maximum O.D., and are offered with servo, vacuum, electromagnetic, pneumatic, and hydraulic indexer drive systems to suit application parameters.
