Back to Normal
That’s what everyone is wondering, when will
things get back to normal? By now most of us have
had several aspects of our lives change due to
COVID-19 with no end in sight. We sincerely hope that
all of you and your families are well and doing what you
can to help fight this unprecedented epidemic. Please
stay safe. As essential businesses you all are helping to
keep the country running. And until we get back to normal,
we want to thank you for doing your part whether
large or small.
If you are considering buying a new router or panel saw
or looking for cutting tools that will provide a clean
edge off your machine reducing secondary processing,
then you’ll love our Machinery & Tooling Spotlight. With
the cancelation of the International Woodworking Fair
this year we decided to bring some off the products you
would have seen in Atlanta to you. The technology that
is available to you today will decrease production costs
and improve profits.
Next, in our Polyolefin Spotlight
we look at polyethylene
and polypropylene, two of the
largest volume thermoplastics
used today. The materials are
available in a wide range of grades, formulations and
shapes. They are tough, chemical resistant and offer
good electrical properties with a low coefficient of friction
and moisture absorption. They are also relatively
lightweight and easy to fabricate.
This issue also includes our 23rd Annual Buyer’s Guide,
a collective resource of our advertisers’ products and
services this past year. It is a one-stop shop for nearly
every product your company will need. You can also
search the online version of the 2020 Buyer’s Guide at
www.plasticsmag.com. When you find what you’re looking
for, don’t forget to tell them you got their name from
PD&F Magazine.
Finally, we ran out of room for Safety Solutions but we
put Jack’s article on the web. In it, Jack asks, “Have You Conducted
Your Periodic Lockout & Tagout Audit?” A periodic
inspection of each energy control procedure must be performed
at least annually to ensure that the energy control
procedures continue to be implemented properly and that
employees are familiar with their responsibilities under
those procedures. And don’t forget that as a reader of PD&F
Magazine Jack is available for all your safety needs. You can
email him at jpodojil@podojilconsulting.com.
We hope things get back to normal soon. Until then
you can find additional resources by searching our website’s
extensive article archive.
You can also contact our advertisers and manage your
subscription through our on-line eReader Service.
Please stay safe and enjoy the issue,
David Whelan
