One Person, One Vote
It has been a challenging year to say the least; a global
pandemic, a divided political landscape, a national
reckoning on racial inequality, there has never been a
more important year to vote. Whether you are in the middle,
on the right or on the left, it is our differences that
make this country great. We should not sit on the sidelines
and let others decide the direction of our country. Each of
us has a voice and we must express it on November 3.
Regardless of the outcome of the election, we are the
United States of America and united we must be. The
freedom we have has been fought for on many fronts,
don’t take it for granted. Please cast your vote any way
you feel safe doing. Our country and our future are depending
on you.
Our industry is not only essential, it is vital to many
industries in ways most people do not realize. Fabricated
and formed plastic parts and assemblies continue
to find inventive ways to replace other materials, due in
part to the machinery, tooling and materials you will find
in this issue.
We kick off with what’s new
in High Performance Plastics
(HPPs). When you have demanding
applications, these
materials provide engineers and
fabricators an increasing number of options from which
to choose. HPPs have characteristics that make them
ideal for challenging environments, and when high
strength or high service temperatures are required. Turn
to page 8 to see what’s new to meet your customer’s
high-performance requirements.
Next find out what's hot in the cut sheet thermoforming
market. Companies are always looking for an edge –
a way to lower costs, increase productivity and add value
for their clients. Our Thermoforming Spotlight features
machinery for forming and trimming, and cutting tools
that will make your company more efficient, more competitive
and more profitable.
Finally, in Safety Solutions, Jack Podojil has some
things for you to consider “Before You Purchase New Machinery.”
Buying new equipment can be a challenging
procedure given all the different factors that should be
taken into consideration. As you research different manufacturers
you should look at the American National
Standards Institute (ANSI) standards for the type of machinery
that you are considering purchasing.
Looking ahead, our 2021 editorial calendar can be found
