A Reason to Celebrate
As the news gets a little better every day regarding
the pandemic, we are seeing signs of life after
covid begin. Just today I heard about promising
new vaccine research that may offer a common vaccine
to fight all known covid viruses and their mutations.
What a time to be alive. As more and more people get
vaccinated and restrictions lift across the country, we
look forward to reconnecting with people at tradeshows
this year.
This issue I celebrate twenty-four years at PD&F Magazine.
Each year at this time I find myself wondering
about the future, and thinking about the past. Our industry
rose to the occasion this past year on many levels
and as supply chain challenges begin to ease the future
looks even brighter for plastics.
Case in point, this issue features our 25th Nylon & Acetal Shapes
editorial spotlight. Nylon and acetal are
versatile, easy to fabricate and
continue to find new applications
and new industries to
serve, due in part to, their wide
range of properties. Our feature,
Work Smarter with Custom Cast Nylon Shapes, discusses
the benefits, and potential savings, you can see when
choosing custom cast near net shape nylon over stock
shapes. When the application warrants, they can save
time and money for your customer.
Finally, in Safety Solutions Jack asks “Do You or Your Supervisors Really Care About Worker Safety ?”
For many business owners and managers, workplace safety is about
keeping up with various industry standards and OSHA
regulations. But workplace safety should be about more
than just meeting standards and avoiding penalties. And
don’t forget if your company needs assistance with a
safety related matter, Jack would be happy to help. As a
reader of PD&F Magazine he is available for an initial consultation.
He has over 45 years in industrial safety and
can be reached via email at jpodojil@podojilconsulting.com. Everyone wins when a workplace is safer.
I feel fortunate to celebrate another year with this essential
and fascinating industry and I look forward to
many more years of bringing you the news, new products
and information you need to stay current and competitive.
On a personal note, I would also like to celebrate
the graduation of my daughter Lauren from Hope College
in Holland, MI. She has overcome many challenges
in her young life and has worked very hard to become
the intelligent and charismatic young woman she is
today, congratulations Lauren!
