INSERTS FOR PLASTICS
SIŪ threaded inserts from Penn Engineering
& Manufacturing Corp. provide strong, durable metal threads in plastics and
can serve as an alternative to permanently bonded adhesives or rivets in
plastic-assembly applications. These brass, stainless steel or aluminum threaded
inserts are ideal for plastic joining applications where frequent disassembly
and reassembly of a unit is necessary for service or repair. The line for
plastic assemblies includes ultrasonic/heat staking threaded inserts, which are
installed ultrasonically or with a thermal press and SI press-in threaded
inserts, which are installed by pressing them into pre-drille d holes. All are
available in a wide range of unified and metric thread sizes.
