THREADED RIVET NUTS
A new four-page product bulletin from Atlas Engineering Inc. profiles their line of ATLAS SpinTite(tm) threaded rivet nuts, which are specially designed for use in "blind" attachment applications where only one side of a workpiece is accessible for fastener isntallation and final component assembly. "Bulletin PG" provides an overview for all five types of fasteners, which can serve as a pracitcal alternative to weld nuts, rivets, and self-drilling or tapping screws. The bulletin also illustrates installation procedure and lists authorized distributors and representatives. The rivet nuts will satisfy most "blind" applications where permanently installed threads are required. They are available in aluminum, brass, steel and stainless steel and in thread sizes ranging from #4-40 through 1/2"-13 and M3 through M12. Types include half-hex shank low-profile head, rib-wall minimized-profile head, rib-wall low-profile head, thin-wall low-profile head, and 360 degree swaging low-profile head. Installed from the accessible "front" side of a workpiece the rivet nuts will provide strong permanent metal threads in plastic sheets as thin as .020". Upon installation, only a mating srew is required to complete final component assembly.
