Custom Colors For Cast Nylon Sheets And Rods
Sustaplast, L.P., a processor of engineered plastic parts and profiles for challenging applications, has recently added custom colored cast nylon sheets and rods to their product line. Custom colored parts made from sheets and rods are particularly useful in conveyor and machine component applications during set-up and changeovers of production lines. Color-coding simplifies the production and assembly set-up process.

Sustaplast V.P. of Sales, Mark Bogin explains, "We have been asked by our customers to provide Sustamid 6G cast nylon in a variety of colors so that they can take advantage of the material's superior performance in a wide variety of applications where color coding is desired. Color-coded spacers and machinery parts are often used to accommodate assembly and production set-up changes, reducing the required changeover time by 50 to 75 percent.

"For example, in packaging applications, colored ‘package-specific’ spacers snap in place to change guide rail spacing for different package sizes. Conveyor line changeovers are made quickly and easily."

The applications arena for colored plastic parts includes: packaging, electronics, chemical and fluid handling, medical equipment, environmental technology, agricultural machinery, metalworking, electrical engineering, conveying, food and beverage processing, textile, and automotive, among others.

Fourteen custom colors are available. Depending on quantity and production limitations, additional colors may be produced to match specific requirements.
