Productivity Software
FactoryWare™ Inc., offers FactoryPulse™ 5.0 Software. Founded by John Oskin, a mechanical engineer with nearly two decades of experience, Oskin observed that getting raw data for analysis sometimes took longer (and cost more) than implementing the improvements. Acquiring the desired data often meant linking different systems' hardware and software, which involved multiple departments and significant programming efforts.
He has created a low-cost, easy-to-deploy portable system to gather and analyze data from one focused spot in the factory, and be deployed in days, not months.
The system has enabled manufacturers across diverse industries to analyze operations and increase productivity. Companies, such as machined parts manufacturers, have increased equipment utilization by as much as 30%.
Comprised of both hardware and software components, FactoryPulse is a real-time system that can gather data and analyze both automatic and manual processes.
The FactoryPulse hardware is a pocket sized data collector with a cycle sensor that is located near or attached to a machine. It can be networked for constant data collection, or it can gather data for up to two weeks when used as a stand-alone, battery-powered device. The networked version is scaleable, allowing multiple FactoryPulse systems to monitor various points in the same process.
The software, which runs on a separate PC, analyzes the collected data and identifies ways to improve the manufacturing process. The software uses the same statistical methods as many six-sigma quality programs. Information is portrayed in easy-to-understand graphs that can illustrate hidden trends, using data tracked hour, day, or shift; downtime interval; and reason, such as part jams and oil leaks. Software features include: cycle time analysis, including erosion, downtime, bottleneck, and inventory optimization analyses, capacity analysis and planning, management reports, and file import/export capability.
Version 5.0 offers many new features including: advanced querying capabilities, through built-in SQL engine, optimized performance, up to 50% faster, an installation wizard for faster and easier network configuration, and export information by part number, job IDs and/or other user defined fields.
