K 2001 Saw Eagerness
The recent staging of K 2001, 15th International Trade Fair for Plastics + Rubber, in Düsseldorf, Germany, attracted 2,885 exhibitors from 53 nations and over 230,000 trade visitors from over 100 countries. "In light of the current worldwide political and economic situation, we are very pleased with the results," explained Karlheinz Wismer, President and CEO of the K 2001 organizer Messe Düsseldorf. "While visitor numbers were about 12 percent lower than at K 98, no one I spoke to was disappointed. Exhibitors were impressed with the trade visitors' professional caliber, the large number of international guests and the unexpected high eagerness to invest."
The majority of the exhibitors reported good business deals and contacts at the show - 91 percent were pleased with their participation in K 2001 and 94 percent expect a busy post-show business. The exhibitors - raw materials and machinery manufacturers as well as plastics and rubber processors - agreed that in the current difficult global political and economic environment, K 2001 again proved its status as the leading international marketplace and provided the industry with important impulses. More than 1.6 million square feet of net exhibit space in all 17 halls were occupied by the K 2001 exhibitors.
The next staging of K will take place from October 20 - 27, 2004 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.
