Polystyrene Foam Core
Alcan Composites USA Inc. introduced Foam-X PS, one of the newest additions to its Creative Sheet Material Display Market product line. This new lightweight product consists of a continuously produced rigid polystyrene foam core between two polystyrene surface liners, with a smooth, durable matte finish.

"Foam-X PS provides superior rigidity and longevity, compared to other foam-core substrates of its kind," according to Jim McCormick, Senior Group Vice President of Creative Sheet Materials at Alcan Composites USA Inc. "Yet, the material is lightweight and economical. Our continuous production process provides improved yield opportunities for our Display Market partners, versus competitive batch produced products, and also enhances quality control."

The product can be finished and fabricated easily in a variety of ways with typical shop tools. It can be painted, printed and screen-printed. The material is effective with vinyl letters (including the important ability to reposition sign vinyl), and photo mounting can be accomplished with cold mounting techniques.

Foam-X PS Material is available from inventory in black or white 4' x 8' sheets of 1/4" or 1/2" thickness. Custom sizes are available, production minimums may apply.
