Lucite International Formed
The world’s largest producer of methacrylates, which are used to create acrylic-based products by major industries in more than 100 different countries, is to be renamed Lucite International as part of a new phase in the company’s development.
Scott Davidson, chairman and CEO of the group, commented “We want to target a flotation or IPO within the next 3-5 years and it is vital to establish a strong, independent company brand as soon as possible.”
Lucite International currently supplies major businesses in the Americas, Europe and Asia with products such as Lucite®, the company’s flagship brand.
Lucite International has a strong heritage of DuPont and ICI manufacturing expertise and business philosophy. It has traded as Ineos Acrylics since its acquisition from ICI in October 1999 by Charterhouse Development Capital - the equity shareholding remains unchanged with Charterhouse holding 78%.
