Plastic Machining & Assembly Video
The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) released a video entitled Plastic Machining & Assembly. The video is part of SME's Fundamental Manufacturing Processes training series. The program is an introduction to plastic sawing, milling, routing, drilling, turning, waterjet and laser cutting, and a variety of assembly techniques. The assembly section includes segments on snap-fit fasteners, the use of hinges, mechanical fasteners, adhesive and solvent bonding applications, and the various plastic welding processes, including: spin welding, hot-gas welding, ultrasonic welding, vibration welding, heat staking and ultrasonic staking.
Eastern Plastics, Incorporated (EPI), a global plastic machining specialist was chosen as the film location for several scenes in a new industrial video.
