Small Footprint VMC
Fadal Machining Centers has introduced the EMC designed for first-time users or use in a dedicated application. The newest member of its Standard Series Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) is built to provide higher performance for small parts machining in a small footprint. The EMC features 12 HP and 7,500 RPM spindle speeds, as well as a large unobstructed work envelope with 8" of Z axis clearance (14" Z travel) between most tools and the table.
The XYZ travels are 20", 16" and 14" respectively with 3 HP axis motors, which deliver 2,500 lbs. of thrust for cutting speeds up to 600 IPM and rapids up to 700 IPM. This reduces cycle times and can lead to increased profitability.
The Fadal EMC weighs 4,800 lbs. and holds up to 1,000 lbs. maximum weight on the table with a footprint of 75" x 77", delivering much higher capacity than other mini or entry level mills. With 16-pockets, the automatic tool changer (ATC) holds up to 4.6" diameter tools weighing up to15 pounds, reducing the need to change tools for each new job.
