GE Polymershapes Opens New Distribution Operation
GE Polymershapes, a global plastics sheet, rod, tube, film and shapes company, announced the opening of a new branch facility to service the local St. Louis, MO area. The new branch will be able to provide customers in the St. Louis area with same-day plastic shapes delivery for this growing market. GE Polymershapes is an operating unit of GE Plastics, a division of General Electric Company.
"We are very excited about this expansion in St Louis," said Mario Sandoval, Supply Chain Leader for GE Polymershapes. "We continuously examine ways to better serve cus-tomers by evaluating new markets and improving our ability to deliver product. The shapes market in St Louis demands that we expand our presence there, and we look forward to growing with our customers." The 28,000 square-foot facility will include shipping and warehousing.
The expansion in St. Louis is the first new branch the business has opened since 2001. GE Polymershapes has plans to open several more new branches in 2003. GE Polymershapes is a global distributor of plastic sheet, rod, tube, film and shapes with over 1,100 employees in 80 facilities in 17 countries. Major industries served include building and construction, aerospace, ground transportation, marine, sign and display, architectural security and printing.
