Tilting Edge Polisher
C. R. Clarke & Co. introduced the 1525 Diamond Edge Polisher with a tilting transport system that allows the user to polish beveled edges on material from 45° to 90° leaving a brightly polished surface in one operation.
The machine uses one polycrystalline (man-made) and one natural diamond to remove 0.50mm (0.020") from the edge of the material.
The polycrystalline tool removes all cutting marks and the natural diamond tool follows, giving the edge a clear polished finish on material up to 1" thick. The polisher uses the diamond tooling technology developed on their 1550 machine to produce a high gloss finish with a minimum
of machining marks.
As the 1525 removes material it generates swarf. This must be extracted to prevent any damage to the machine. The machine is fitted with an Extraction Port, which can
be connected to any suitable vacuum source. Alternatively, they also offer an integrated Extraction Unit, the 1550E. This combines a phase-inverter controlled side channel blower unit with a collection bin and 3-stage filtration.
Diamond tooling must be sharpened periodically. C. R. Clarke offers Service Exchange Cutter Hubs, which are normally dispatched within 24 hours of request. This gives the customer a fixed-cost replacement cutter hub every time. For customers who cannot afford any downtime, spare cutter hubs are also available.
