Structural Plastic Adhesive
Scotch-Weld Structural Adhesive DP-8010 and DP- 80l0NS from 3M are two part acrylic-based adhesives (10: 1 ratio by volume) that can replace screws, rivets, plastic welding and two-step processes which include chemIcal etchants, priming or surface treatments in many applications. The adhesives add to 3M's line of structural adhesives that already includes Scotch-Weld DP-805, DP-810 and DP-8005, the first structural adhesive that can bond many low surface energy plastics, including many grades of polypropylene, polyethylene, and TPOs without special surface preparation.
The new adhesives are also excellent for bonding LSE materials. They feature quicker handling strength for applications requiring fast assembly. Scotch-Weld DP-8010NS is a non-sag adhesive designed to be used in applications where high viscosity is needed such as bonding vertical surfaces.
The new adhesives are designed for application with the 3MTM EPXTM Plus II Application system to ensure proper mix ratios and thorough mixing. They are also available in bulk containers for use with appropriate meter mix equipment.
