New Lucite® Line
Bigger is now better for fabricators who demand ultra-high-quality Lucite® acrylic sheet. “Our new 100” line
provides super-smooth finishes and increased production
efficiency, meaning higher customer satisfaction as a
result of an aggressive new capital investment in North
America,” said Alan Ledger, National Sales Manager for
the Industrial Lucite Division. “Our customers, particularly
those in the point-of-purchase (P.O.P.), framing, mirror
and sign industries will immediately benefit from these
enhanced features. This new line enables us to
respond faster to customer needs, positions us to
gain market share and should allow us to turn
inventories faster than ever before.”
Lucite’s Olive Branch, Mississippi plant is now on
line with new leading edge Breyer® extrusion technology
that will deliver an additional 10 million
pounds of capacity. The extrusion line, operating in
an industry-leading clean-room environment, features
the very latest technology in Breyer machining,
utilizes a proprietary “Hot Melt” extrusion system
and produces frame grade and mirror grade
surface finishes in widths up to 100”.
The clean-room production environment is specifically
tailored for production with no outside contamination,
which helps produce an acrylic sheet of
exceptional quality characteristics and visual clarity.
Their closed-loop “Hot Melt” process also adds
to improved color quality and clarity because it subjects the acrylic monomer to just one heating cycle.
The larger acrylic sheet produced on the new line is
being shipped customer-direct from the production facility.
The sheet is faced with either thermoformable or
TufGuard™ protective masking and can be ordered in specific
sizes to ensure a higher yield for job-specific project
applications.
