Digital Control Increases Functionality and Speed
Fadal Machining Centers has introduced the 104/D, its
new proprietary digital control with dramatically high-er
CPU speed and Windows 2000 Professional-based
operating system. In addition to its open architecture and
high-speed CPU, the 104/D combines an extensive num-ber
of software, hardware, interface and ergonomic
improvements, as well as providing a platform for extraordinary
innovation in the near future. The 104/D will be a
standard feature of new Fadal VMC’s without an increase
in price.
“The new digital control is backwards compatible to
older Fadal VMC’s so existing Fadal part programs can be
run on the new control. The only edits a user needs to
make for decreasing part run times are matched increases
in feed rate and spindle rpm to ensure proper chip
load. The 104/D will also be upgradeable over the life of
the machine,” said John Wenger, Director of Engineering,
Fadal Machining Centers.
Beta testing in the field and at the Fadal manufacturing
facility in Chatsworth, CA has demonstrated an increase of
up to 10 times the cutting feed rate without deviating
from part tolerances.
