PVDF High Purity Sheet
George Fischer
announced the
availability of its
new Factory Mutual
(FM) 4910 PVDF
(polyvinylidene fluoride)
high purity
sheet material manufactured
by Symalit,
which meets the requirements of FM Clean Room
Materials Flammability Test Protocol, Class 4910.
With Factory Mutual listing now required by most insurance
companies, the new PVDF sheet provides a timely
answer for companies seeking compliance. Materials
meeting FM guidelines offset the potential for contamination
by smoke and corrosive by-products associated with
fire, by providing products inherently safe upon installation.
FM approved materials also offer significant benefits
in terms of reduced fire risks and elimination of the need
for costly fire suppression systems.
Manufactured from Kynar® 740 resin, the new sheet
features a double-masked surface for high quality. Other
performance characteristics include fully traceable and
verifiable resin, excellent chemical resistance, UV stability,
and high quality machining and welding. Available in sizes
4 foot x 8 foot with thicknesses ranging from 1/8 inch
through one inch, the new sheet features a tolerance consistency
per ASTM D6713-01 and combustibility
approvals by FM 4910, UL2360 and ASTM E84.
