New Products
It has been a busy couple of months since our last issue and in that time we have seen dozens of new products that will allow our industry to compete in more areas than ever before. We saw everything from high performance plastics for thermoformers to robotic trimming that is fast, accurate and easy to use. We also saw material handling systems, a variety of saws, 3- and 5-axis routers and tooling that have all been designed specifically for plastics distributors and fabricators. This issue features products from AWFS®Vegas held in late July and a couple machines from the SPE Thermoforming Conference held in mid-September. We will have a larger SPE Wrap-up feature in our November/December issue.
This issue also includes two great articles; Routing & Trimming ABS and The Safety Paradox in Safety Solutions. ABS combines toughness, stability, wide temperature range and chemical resistance with relative ease of fabrication. It is one of the most popular products used by thermoformers and rotational molders.
In Safety Solutions, Jack Podojil discusses how safety paradoxes or polarities, which are sets of opposites that appear to be in conflict, but are both needed for success, impact workplace safety programs and implementation. Addressing polarities starts with being aware of them and acquiring the skills to discuss and balance these situations.
We hope you find the new products, new methods of fabricating and new ideas in the September/October issue help your company be more competitive and profitable. And remember, if you find what you are looking for, tell them you saw it here!
Enjoy the issue,
