Filled Acetal Rod

ZL engineering plastics inc. announced it is now offering copolymer acetal rod with a proprietary filler that improves component slip-stick and minimizes heat build up. The new machining stock will be sold under the tradename ZL™ 900-T. Parts machined from this new material are ideal for use as bearings and bushings that require low friction performance and long wear life.

The rod is available in diameters from 0.75” to 5”. Standard length of rods is 39 inches. The material is light blue in color.

Internally Lubricated Cast Nylon 6

ZL engineering plastics also introduced ZL™ 1100 T, an internally lubricated cast nylon 6. Parts machined from stock shapes provide a continuously lubricated surface that is ideal for applications where maintenance greasing is difficult or impossible. It is manufactured with proprietary solid lubricant additives that improve the nylon’s wear resistance and provide a coefficient of friction of only 0.15. In addition, ZL 1100 T offers improved sliding properties, and better machinability than standard cast nylon grades.

The material provides longer life, less wear and reduced slip-stick. Typical applications for include bearings, bushings, gears and wear pads. ZL inventories rod from 2” diameter to 28” diameter, and plate from 1/4”to 3” thick. It is light grey in color. For additional information on ZL 900-T,
