Thin Rim Blades
Forrest Manufacturing’s thin rim blades are designed
with a standard thickness center section and a thinner
rim section, the blades have a narrow kerf and durablesuper abrasive-resistant, C4 carbide tips.
These combined features make thin rims ideal for sawing
smoothly through 1/32 to 1/4” acrylic sheets, engraving
stock, curved Formica® section plastic extrusions and
thin wood veneers.
Thin rim blades come in two 80-tooth TCG plastikerf
styles for cutting a variety of materials. The standard TCG
plastikerf is especially effective for sawing one-sided laminates,
acrylics, phenolics, styrenes and PVC sheets. The
modified version is best suited for cutting acrylic sheets,
one and two-sided Formica laminates, engraving stock
and other chip-prone materials. The modified TCG plastikerf
even eliminates chipping on the bottom sheet of
acrylic when the saw is set to break only 1/32” through
the bottom.
Like all its blades, Forrest hand straightens its thin rim
blades for perfect
flatness. Exceptional
perimeter concentricity
and side runout
of +/- .001
ensure precision cutting.
Additionally,
high-grade carbide
tips coupled with
Forrest’s proprietary
grinding techniques
enable a 50 to 300
percent longer life
between sharpenings.
When sharpening
is required, stateof-
the-art in-factory services are available.
