Personal Robotic System

ShopBot Tools has launched their new line of Personal Robotic Systems (PRS). This new generation of complete shop automation solutions replaces ShopBot’s former PRTs.

The PRSalpha and PRSstandard offer a more robust gantry design, increasing rigidity and reducing deflection. In addition, both machines are fitted with Bishop-Wisecarver precision bearings and hardened stainless steel rails on all axes for smoother, more precise gantry and carriage movement and extended durability. Through the use of motor and software upgrades, unit resolution has been doubled in the highperformance, closed-loop-feedback PRSalpha model, resulting in smoother cutting motion and less “chatter.” Geckodrive microstepping drivers in all PRSstandard tools have doubled the resolution in those models as well. Zaxes are now available with plunge depths of eight, 16 and 24 inches and the PRSalpha has been designed to readily accept the addition of a second Y-carriage.

Systems are available with 13 ready-to-order table sizes, from 48”x48” to 216”x72”. The Alpha and Standard systems are also available in a 32”x24” Benchtop model, with the cutting surface acting as the Y-axis. Custom table sizes are available by request, and

ShopBots can be configured to handle many specialized manufacturing and construction applications. ShopBot provides a two-year warranty and all systems come with PartWizard and MillWizard CAD/CAM software for easy 2D and 3D part design and toolpathing and a Windows-based, full-feature control software for advanced CNC productivity. ShopBots are compatible with most other CAD/CAM design software packages.
