Ballistic Protection

Norplex-Micarta announced ShotBlocker®, the only commercially available Class 1-A fire-rated projectileresistant building material. Far lighter than steel, ricochetresistant and easily installed using ordinary hand-tools, ShotBlocker is the ideal reinforcing substrate for bulletresistant architectural and building projects.

From government facilities to check-cashing stations, armored vehicles and commercial aircraft, ShotBlocker provides greater security and protection in walls, doors and counters than similar polyester- based ballistic laminates. The material also meets the requirements for courtroom, gas station and convenience market armor and complies with applicable federal and state flame and smoke protection regulations.

Readily machined and far lighter than steel, it is easy to install and repair. ShotBlocker can be cut and drilled in the field with commercial quality circular, table or panel saws. For aesthetic conformity, ShotBlocker can be surfaced on site with veneer, drywall, wallpaper or other wall coverings.
