Norplex-Micarta Expansion

Norplex-Micarta announces a dramatic expansion of its customer service and shipping centers. This 3,500 square foot expansion is the first phase of a $1.8 million capital investment earmarked for operational improvements that will enhance overall plant efficiency and productivity.

Norplex-Micarta plans to use this facility expansion to further reduce response time to inquiries from its growing customer base. In addition, the company’s shipping area will increase in size by 50% to allow for more efficient staging of customer shipments, providing additional quality control of both standing and custom orders. Norplex-Micarta, also announces the opening of Micarta Composite Material (Shanghai) Trading Company, Ltd. (MTC). Located in the Eastern Section of Songjiang Industrial Park in Shanghai, China,MTC will supply the company’s vast product line to the rapidly growing Asia market.

In addition to providing better support for its China customer base, MTC gives Norplex-Micarta greater flexibility in serving customers throughout Asia. This includes the ability to import products and place them in inventory at strategic locations throughout China to satisfy customers’ short-term requirements. MTC will also assist Norplex- Micarta in maintaining consistent material standards throughout the global marketplace.

Spearheading MTC will be Dustin Davis, General Manager and Legal Representative. Assisting Mr. Davis will be Sally Zhou, Operations and Supply Chain Manager; Evanse Yang, Sales Engineer; and Doris Liu, Inside Sales Coordinator.
