New Medical Devices Technology
HPE Extrusion Solutions, a manufacturer of plastic extrusions,
has entered into a joint venture with Vascutech
Medical, a molded products manufacturer, to create
VascuMedical, Inc. for the development and manufacture
of disposable medical devices.
The newly formed company brings together the extensive
experience and manufacturing resources of HPE,
which has been a long-time leader in the plastic extrusions
field, and the innovative medical devices engineering
capabilities of Vascutech Medical.
Among the disposable medical devices VascuMedical
will develop and manufacture are all types of catheters,
dilators, needles, trocars, tunnelers and introducers.
A joint announcement issued by the two partner companies
pointed out that VascuMedical is one of the few
companies in the medical devices industry to offer a full
range of services for OEMs under one roof - without the
need for outsourcing. On-premises services include product
design and development, in-house tooling, extrusions
of all types, insert/injection molding and fabrication/
assembly. Ancillary services, such as radio frequency tip
forming, pad printing, hole punching and skiving, are also
performed on-site.
“By combining plant and intellectual resources, we
believe that VascuMedical is uniquely qualified to offer
OEMs maximum flexibility, the close monitoring of every
project from concept to completion and a turnaround time
that cannot be matched by most of our competitors,” said
Tony Madison, VascuMedical President.
