Year in Review
It's been another quick year in spite of the sluggish economy, political partisanship and global financial woes. With a new year just around the corner things have got to get better, don't they? This year saw many innovations in materials, machinery and tooling for our industry and some expansion and consolidation.

If you've come this far you hopefully have a strong enough base to continue to navigate the uncharted waters ahead. With the election less than a year away it's anyone's guess what we'll be working with this time next year.

This issue we spotlight Plastic Welding with over a dozen products and services that will either get you started, or enhance your thermoplastic welding ability and knowledge. From instructional videos and repair kits to industrial fabrication equipment, we cover a wide range of products offered by the leading suppliers in the U.S. In addition to the products featured in this issue, there is a link on our website to a twelve-part welding series that address almost everything you will need to know to become a better welder.

Next up we feature some exciting New Products that are sure to provide opportunities for your business. From edge polishing equipment to new markets to pursue, we provide the information you need to stay competitive.

Finally, we will not be bringing you Safety Solutions this month. Linda Podojil, co-author and beloved wife of Jack Podojil, succumbed to cancer early this past Thanksgiving morning. Linda was a loving wife and partner to Jack, doting mother and grandmother, who had a big heart that will be surely missed. The first time I meet Linda I could see in her eyes how much she loved life. Rest in peace Linda. May those who loved you find peace in your memory until you are together again.

This issue features many products that can help your company see growth in spite of the economy. To find even more tools and resources search our article archive. You can also use eReader Service to contact our advertisers or manage your subscription.

We would like to wish all of our readers, contributors and advertisers a safe and happy holiday season. Take the time to tell the important people in your life how you fell about them this holiday season. Life is short. Don't take one day for granted.

Happy Holidays,

David Whelan
