TRIAC AT Receives "red dot design award"
Leister Technologies AG, a
worldwide leader in plastic
welding and hot air
equipment, has
received a
“red dot:
honourable
mention” in
the Industry and Craft category for its TRIAC AT, the
newest addition to the Leister hot air tool family. The
award pays tribute to challenging design concepts, as
only products with detailed solutions are considered in
the category.
The red dot product design competition, which originated
in 1955, is one of the largest and most prestigious in
the world. More than 14,000 participants from over 70
nations have taken part in the competition.
The TRIAC AT, successor to the TRIAC PID, faced stiff
competition with more than 1,800 companies and independent
designers from 58 countries participating in the
“red dot award: product design 2012” competition in
March 2012.
An international team of 30 experts surveyed, tested
and evaluated each product live and on site. Criteria
including innovative creativity, functionality, self-explanatory
quality and ecological compatibility were assessed.
Participants who stood out from the crowd were given the
“red dot” seal of quality in their sector.
With growing competition in the international markets,
it is more important than ever to prove true quality
against pure price aggression. The “red dot” is a
prestigious award and prominent seal of quality for
aesthetic forms, dynamic trends and responsible yet
thoughtful design.
