STOCK SHAPES OF PEEK(TM) POLYMER
Greene, Tweed & Co. offers a full line of injection molded stock shapes made with Victrex® PEEK(TM) polymer. According to Sales Manager, Keith Brand, "PEEK(TM) polymer is essentially a problem solving product and can be used in a variety of applications where other materials just won't hold up."
Green, Tweed markets PEEK(TM) polymer under the trade name Arlon® and uses it for virtually all its stock shapes including tube stock.
Arlon® tubing is specified for a broad range of components including: bushings, bearings, thrust washers, seals, compressor components and backup rings, for a variety of reasons; For example, replace PTFE with a material that is strong and won't creep or cold flow.
PEEK(TM) polymer is increasingly being specified in the area of hydraulics; replacing standard metallic bearings and bushings, which experience a lot of galling and damage.
