Low Flame and Smoke Containment Piping

Harvel Plastics, Inc., a US manufacturer of PVC and CPVC pipe and products, has introduced Harvel FlameTech™ 25/50, a translucent low flame and smoke containment pipe.

The pipe has been developed for use in visual leak detection systems in areas where flame spread and smoke generation are of concern (i.e. containment piping installed in return air plenum applications).

Based on large-scale burn testing of finished piping products conducted by ULC, Harvel FlameTech meets the fire performance requirements of major building and mechanical codes that call out a maximum flame spread of 25 and a maximum smoke development rating of 50. It is listed by ULC for surface burning characteristics.
