FR-4677
Red Tooling
Board, a new,
tough, high-density
product for
foundry patterns,
hydro-form tooling
and other applications where a strong, abrasion-resistant
substrate is needed.
Created to answer ongoing needs for pattern materials
for the sand-mold casting industry, FR-4677 Red Tooling
Board withstands the heat, abrasion and binder chemicals
used in foundry sands while giving long pattern life. It also
works well in stretch-forming and hydro-forming tools,
where its toughness and high compressive strength permit
outstanding performance at low cost (when compared to
metal tools).
This highly cross-linked polymer board, with a nominal
density of 77 pounds per cubic foot, is dimensionally stable and easily machined with CNC equipment. It contains
no abrasive fillers and is formulated with especially tough
urethane ingredients. The resulting balance of properties
makes the tooling board well-suited to its intended applications.
Polishing the surface of the material to a very
smooth finish is quite easy, if desired.
Priced competitively, FR-4677 Red Tooling Board is
supplied in board form in thickness dimensions of 2”, 3”
and 4”.
