Custom Compounded High-Performance Shapes
QUANTUM Advanced Engineering Plastics has never met an ASTM line call or customer specification it did not like or could not meet. Through strong partnerships with small, innovative and versatile compounders along with its own technical and extrusion capabilities, QUANTUM’s line of custom-compounded engineering and high-performance rods, plates and heavy-wall tubular bars is unmatched.

Additives, colorants, fillers and reinforcements of all types are available to meet demanding specifications and to overcome deficiencies in neat resins. The benefits of high-performance compounding are many and include improved tensile strength or modulus, metal detectability, ESD safety, improved burning behavior, increased lubricity, higher density, dissolvability, and of course, color-matching. Whether the goal is overall performance enhancement or cost, QUANTUM can provide a custom-compounded shape for the application without the requirement of large minimum orders.

All of QUANTUM’s stock shapes are hot air annealed for dimensional stability and low residual stress. Annealing is critical for ease of machining and final part surface smoothness. QUANTUM’s stock shapes are easily machined to tight tolerances and precise components using readily available recommended cutting fluids.

Rods are available from ˝” to 12” diameter. Plates are available from 3/8” to 6” thick in widths 12”, 18” and 24” wide. Heavy wall tubular bars (wall thickness > 0.500”) are available on a custom basis.
