Two New Gantry Routers
Haas Automation, Inc., expands its line of gantry
routers with the new Haas GR-710
(shown) and GR-712 Gantry Routers.
The GR-710 features travels of 121”
x 85” x 11” (xyz) while the GR-712 has
travels of 145” x 85” x 1” (xyz). The
machines come standard with a
10,000-rpm spindle that features a
powerful 15-hp vector drive system.
This gives the routers plenty of power
to cut and the speed necessary to cut plastics and other
light materials.
A 10-pocket automatic tool changer is stan-
dard, with a 20-pocket tool changer available as an option.
An optional coolant system is also available.
Featuring rigid steel construction, the GR-710 and GR-
712 provide a very stable platform for heavy cutting. The
expansive fixed tables (6’ x 10’ and 6’ x 12’ respectively)
provide plenty of support for large and/or heavy work-pieces, and the gantry assembly travels the full length of
the table on heavy-duty linear guides for low friction and
extreme accuracy. Powerful brushless servo motors and
high-pitch ballscrews combine to produce fast rapids
(2100 ipm in Y, 1100 ipm in Z and 800 ipm in X) for
reduced cycle times.
Guiding the GR-710 and GR-712 is the powerful and
user-friendly Haas control. Designed and built in-house, it
is optimized specifically for Haas machines. The Haas CNC
accepts ISO standard G-code and is compatible with all
major CAM systems. A built-in graphic dry-run mode
allows the operator to check tool paths on screen without
actually cutting material, reducing the chances of
scrapping parts. Optional features like
Visual Quick Code programming, rotation &
scaling and custom macros make generating
G code simple for novice programmers and
experts alike.
